Using Ring Reader Offline

Shooting ranges love basements — and dead zones come standard there. That’s why Ring Reader is built offline-first: your data lives locally on your device, and the core of the app works without internet.

What works offline

• Scanning paper targets: Scoring your target photos runs entirely on your device — photograph, view the result, save, all without a connection.
• Manual entry: Recording results by hand always works.
• History and results: All saved series including shot patterns are available locally.
• Statistics: Trends, records and charts are computed from the local data.
• Training details: Notes, daily form and equipment can be added at any time.

What needs internet

• Importing printouts, screen photos and PDFs: The text recognition for Meyton, DISAG, SIUS or SETA printouts runs on the server.
• Competitions and Training rosters: Leaderboards and groups live in the cloud.
• Cloud sync: Your devices reconcile as soon as a connection is back (Plus/Pro).
• Sharing results and push notifications.

How everything stays together

Series recorded offline are not lost: they live locally and sync automatically the next time you’re online. In the History you can also trigger synchronization manually via “Sync all”.
