Getting Started for Clubs

Many members already use Ring Reader anyway — they photograph their targets and printouts themselves. As a club, a few simple steps make sure better data comes out of that, and let you use the app for championships and training rosters.

Make result files accessible

The best imports come from the files your range systems produce anyway:

  • WM-Shot: Provide the .wmk/.mdb files of your league matches — ideally via a URL on the club network or website. Members enter the address once; after that every import is one click.
  • Meyton: The range official can produce XML or CSV exports — they contain the complete shot pattern. The result PDFs via QR code are a good route too.
  • DISAG: The JSON export delivers the full data; without an export, members use the Statistik printout or the ShotsApp.

What each format delivers is shown in Supported Formats.

Optimize printouts

Small tweak, big effect: configure your Meyton so the Teiler column is printed on result sheets. Photographed printouts then deliver considerably more data. And keep a sheet of bright paper at the scoring table — the most common scan failure is a dark surface under the target.

Club championships and comparison shoots online

With Competitions you run club championships, king’s shoots or training comparisons online: create the challenge (discipline, shot count, time window, mode), drop the invite code into the club group — and the leaderboard keeps itself as members record their results as usual. Four modes are available, from the classic “Best Series” to the handicap format “Target Deviation”; series edited afterwards are automatically excluded from scoring.

Training rosters for squads and youth groups

With Training rosters, trainers keep track of their shooters’ development — with the full result history, or in the “Attendance only” variant, which is the most data-sparing entry point especially for youth groups. The rules are fixed at creation and every member explicitly consents to them when joining; for minors under 16, the parental consent form is built firmly into the admission process. PDF reports for athlete talks and the group report replace the paper collection.

The notice board at the range

The simplest rollout: the QR code of the group invite on the notice board, next to it the invite code of the current club challenge. Anyone standing at the range is in within a minute — without anyone maintaining email lists.

Start small: one training roster for one squad, one challenge toward the end of the month. What proves itself grows on its own — and the members bring their results with them anyway.
