Account & sign-in

Ring Reader starts without signing in. You only need an account once your results should reach several devices or you want to use Pro.

Without an account

Without an account you scan paper targets, see every result with shot pattern and statistics, and keep up to 10 series on the device. On the sign-in page, “Continue without an account” takes you straight into the app; the button only appears as long as no account has been signed in on the device yet.

Photos of printouts and screens are processed by a server. For that, Ring Reader creates an anonymous device ID in the background the first time you take such a photo; you don’t have to enter anything. If that fails once, the Capture page shows the note “Sign in to process print photos”.

In Settings, the top then reads “Guest” with a “Create account” button.

Creating an account

Open the menu (☰) and tap “Sign in”, then “Register” to reach “Create your account”. Two routes:

• “Continue with Google”: One tap, done. The scans already on the device move into the new account.
• Email and password: The password has to reach at least the “Fair” level of the indicator and be entered twice the same way. Then a mail with a verification link arrives; the “Check your email” page waits until you’ve opened it. “Resend email” sends the mail again after a minute. With a Gmail address you can also tap “Continue with Google” at this point, which verifies the same account right away.

After verification you land back where you were before, say on the pricing page if that’s where you came from.

Signing in

On another device you sign in via the menu with “Sign in”. If you registered with Google, your account has no password; use “Continue with Google” again. “Forgot password?” sends you a reset link; the page’s response is always the same, whether or not the address is known.

With Pro, Ring Reader syncs your series between devices. At the top left next to the logo, an icon shows the sync status; a tap on it explains it.

Changing or adding a password

In Settings under Security you’ll find “Change password”. For a Google account it reads “Add a password” instead; after that you can sign in either way.

Signing out and deleting the account

“Sign out” is in the menu (☰). You delete the account with all its data in Settings under Data & Privacy, as described there.
